Scrolling Window: Scroll Bar

As we mentioned, the scroll bar is made up of two movieclips, the scroll bar, and the scroll button.

1. Create a new flash file - we'll work here on a file 550 x 400 pixels

2. Draw a square 20 pixels wide, 400 pixels high, and position it at the far right of the page

3. Convert the sqaure to a movieclip, call it 'scrollBar' (modify: convert to symbol, or press f8)

4. Select this movieclip on the stage, and give it the instance name of 'scrollBar'.

Scroll Button

Create another square (of a different colour), 20 x 200 pixels, convert this to a movieclip called 'scrollButton', and also give the movieclip on the stage an instance name of 'scrollButton'.

Next, we need to double click 'scrollButton' to edit this movieclip, then select the square, and give it a Y Position of -100

Click 'Scene 1' at the top of the flash screen to go back to viewing the main scene
