With a population
estimated at around 16 million, Istanbul is a large place.
The population of Scotland, Switzerland and New Zealand don't add up
to as much as Instanbul.
The famous 'Grand Bazaar' at 75 acres (2km x 3km) is the worlds oldest,
and largest shopping area.
25,000 peopel work here, in 4,400 shops.
The bazaar is only one part of Istanbul, there are many smaller market
and shopping streets and also the 'spice bazaar' - similar to the grand
bazaar, but a quite a bit smaller, a bit cheaper, and lot less touristy.
